Spring Cleaning - You Know You Want To! Greetings from Edinburgh ! I am ensconced in a hotel awaiting the wedding festivities to begin at 'The Caves', a spectacular gothic structure beneath the South Bridge! I love Scotland - beautiful architecture and the people here are so warm and enthusiastic. So glad that I am staying until Monday! I have had a very interesting week including a photo-shoot with a National Newspaper for a story on fragrances for Mother's Day. They tasked me to choose floral fragrances and then to work with the very talented senior florist from McQueens to create bouquets that match them - including my own creation 'The Actress'! Seeing my perfume made flesh was an oddly emotional experience and one that I shall never forget! The Lilies and jasmine,with a touch of basil and orchids, looked spectacular - I created this scent for the woman who wants to make and entrance and the flowers echoed this beautifully! Glorious New Scents For Mother's Day, Iconic Salad Servers & Scented Candles In Upcycled Wine Bottles This week I thought that I would kick-off with some sage advice on choosing scents for our Mums. Mother's Day is just a week away and I always buy my mother a perfume rather than flowers or chocolates as I like to think that she can enjoy the gift for six months rather then just a week! I also enjoy making the selection as I know her taste and like to find something new to excite her.  This week saw the arrival of one of my favourite fragrance houses. I used to work with Tocca back in the naughties and my mother is a huge fan - she wore 'Florence' until the brand disappeared from British shores and will be so thrilled that it is back!  Tocca means 'touch' in Italian and the delightful bottle, based on an antique cognac decanter, and exquisite, embossed metal caps are a masterclass in how to get it right. Truly Sumptuous! Think Pinky! & Perky! Good Morning As I type I am back in the glorious countryside of East Sussex gazing at some rather amorous pheasant  - so spring is obviously on the way! I forgot just how beautiful our villages can be and I am now smitten by both the Good Doctor and the architecture and history of Lindfield which is stunning and boasts a thatched cottage built in 1390 (in the rein of Richard II!).
