Fortunately for us Hectic Hosts the key to this particular holiday is to keep it as simple as possible. You want to present light fare; which one can savour, rather than spending hours in the kitchen creating a borderline- banquet. I n the March issue of Sight & Sound Roger Clarke discusses Tom Ford's first foray into film making 'A Single Man', with the fashion force but fledgling Director Ford himself. As Clarke illustrates Ford's attention to detail is faultless "..... the vintage Mercedes George drives, the leather bag he packs, the novel he opens, the contents of his huge Californian fridge all exude the sense that they've been aesthetically vetted by Ford. You feel he's polished them all with his own linen handkerchief". In the interview, His Dark Material, Ford elaborates; "George's clothes, when I had them made, had labels inside them, because I figured out where he would have had them made - labels from the right Saville Row tailor with the date". Ford continues; "I figured out what perfume he was wearing. Creed's Bois de Portugual , invented in 1957 - Frank Sinatra's favourite". The March edition of Sight & Sound is on sale now. C
