Monday: peppered smoked mackerel salad with watercress, fresh orange, red onion and orange & lemon vinaigrette with chilled Muscadet sur Lie.
Sunday: chicken breasts roasted over lemon wedges, thyme, Charlotte potatoes & baby carrots with grilled asparagus & a dry Riesling.
Saturday: sautéed diver scallops on a bed of peas puréed with a little butter topped with crumbled crispy smoky bacon & chilled Sancerre.
Friday: grilled lamb tenderloin, roasted yellow & red tomatoes with rosemary & sea salt, mange touttt & a bottle of Cune Rioja Reserva 2004.
Thursday: flake pan-fried tuna into steaming spaghetti scatter with rocket add olive oil & lemon juice dust with crushed dried chilli.
Wednesday: pear, endive, walnut and Gorgonzola salad with lime vinaigrette (1 part lime juice to 3 parts olive oil) & wholemeal croutons.
Tuesday: strawberries & spinach salad with raspberry vinaigrette topped off with warm grilled goats cheese on crusty toast.

Bâtard Folding Picnic Knife by Lamson & Goodnow

As author of The Best Bread Ever; Charles Van Over is expected to show everywhere up with an armful of bread. Whilst Charles enjoys breaking bread with friends; he does insist that the bread is properly sliced with a breadknife, not just ripped apart. The problem here is that bread knives are very long and with their serrated edges they are not the easiest of things to carry around. Charles wondered why a folding bread knife could not be produced and took his idea for a pocket bread knife to Lamson & Goodnow, American manufacturers of the LamsonSharp range.
