Senior Retail Sales Consultant : Part Time Fridays to Sundays Inclusive.

Roullier White is looking for help and we wonder if you could be the one to provide it.

From our shop on Lordship Lane in East Dulwich, we sell some of the world’s most prestigious luxury brands, where we have established a niche for ourselves as purveyors of artisan perfumes and unusual fine fragrances.

We are looking for a dynamic person to join our small and friendly front of house team, working Fridays to Sundays inclusive.

You must thrive on providing the highest standards of excellent customer service and demonstrate a keen sales ability; you should enjoy selling and be target and results driven.

You must have a proven interest in the Roullier White product range coupled with a keen interest in product provenance and a desire to increase and impart your product knowledge.

Retail experience would be useful, but we would like to hear from you regardless if you are full of enthusiasm for the things we sell. Full training of our simple systems will be given, however, good common sense, a proven desire to help our company grow; an understanding of basic commercial concepts and good business acumen are all prerequisites.

We believe the work place should be a fun environment, and people buy from people they like, so we are looking for a charming individual with boundless energy and a constant and infectious smile. You must be presentable, with a sense of style and some personal flair. The shop’s dress code is casual business wear and you must black or black and white.

The duties include normal retail tasks including opening and closing, housekeeping, unpacking and checking of deliveries, and other duties as required.

You will ideally live locally.

The position will be permanent dependent on the successful completion of a three-month probationary period. The recruitment process is two interviews followed by a trial day.

Opening hours are Friday & Saturday 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday 11 to 5 pm.
You will expected to arrive in time to prepare for opening and stay to complete cashing up.

You will be eligible for 5.6 weeks paid leave per year pro rata and statutory sickness entitlement. If your rota day falls on a bank holiday then you will be expected to work, with a day off in lieu. We are open all bank holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Easter Sunday.

No leave is allowed in December or when other staff members have booked holiday and you will be expected to work extra days in the busy time preceding Christmas.

Immediate start.

£8 per hour.

Bâtard Folding Picnic Knife by Lamson & Goodnow

As author of The Best Bread Ever; Charles Van Over is expected to show everywhere up with an armful of bread. Whilst Charles enjoys breaking bread with friends; he does insist that the bread is properly sliced with a breadknife, not just ripped apart. The problem here is that bread knives are very long and with their serrated edges they are not the easiest of things to carry around. Charles wondered why a folding bread knife could not be produced and took his idea for a pocket bread knife to Lamson & Goodnow, American manufacturers of the LamsonSharp range. The Bâtard Folding Picnic knife is the result of this collaboration. At Roullier White we believe this may possibly be the best picnic knife ever made. The French word bâtard – and yes it does translate how you think it does – is a shorter and thicker type of baguette.
