Marie Huet at Roullier White

Last night, as part of our monthly 'meet the maker' event, Roullier White was honoured to welcome Marie Huet, owner of Parfums d'Orsay Paris. The free event featured a talk from Marie herself about her attachment to the company, and how she has balanced tradition with innovation.

Huet acquired the company almost eight years ago and has since introduced two new perfumes to d'Orsay's already historic and prestigious collection. These new perfumes, labeled 'Al Kimiya' (the origin of the word alchemy), are intended to be worn as a base that will add a particular depth to other fragrances in the d'Orsay range (or your own perfume) when layered. Al Kimiya is available in two fragrances, Oud et Bois and Ambre et Musc.

Marie introduced these exciting new perfumes by handing out blotters cloaked in traditional d'Orsay perfumes before placing them in the newly coated Al Kimiya blotter. The effect was mesmerising and assured that Marie had created a modern perfume that perfectly intertwined with, and breathed life into the established perfumes of Parfums d'Orsay.

The atmosphere of the event was good-natured with bubbly flowing all through the evening. Everyone who attended was given a complimentary gift bag complete with Parfums d'Orsay samples, and some couldn't resist a selfie with the woman of the hour.

The team at Roullier White were thrilled to host such an event and be able to converse with a perfume icon such as Marie. Informative and insightful, the evening left everyone excited and enthused, so make sure you come down to the next event!
