Today I'm Wearing: Ryder, by Ex Idolo

Today I'm wearing Ryder, the hotly anticipated new scent from Ex Idolo mastermind, Matthew Zhuk. After the success of his exclusive, critically acclaimed Oud scent, Thirty Three, this new composition makes use of dark wood notes and rich pipe tobacco to conjure the atmosphere of smoky, mahogany-panelled private members club in Mayfair or Ryder Street in St. James. However, the star of the show has to be Zhuk's use of a wonderfully rare Omani frankincense that gives the scent its sumptuously nuanced character, taking in accords of rich red fruits and sweetly perfumed smoke for a complex and unique dry down. A boozy, woody opening sets the scene perfectly for a scent that unfolds to reveal an exquisite blending of masculine and feminine fragrance characteristics; all smoky florals and heartening warm amber, making Ryder an exquisite unisex scent. Warming and comforting as the summer fades and autumnal chills begin to take hold, it's safe to say that Zhuk has done it again.

Bâtard Folding Picnic Knife by Lamson & Goodnow

As author of The Best Bread Ever; Charles Van Over is expected to show everywhere up with an armful of bread. Whilst Charles enjoys breaking bread with friends; he does insist that the bread is properly sliced with a breadknife, not just ripped apart. The problem here is that bread knives are very long and with their serrated edges they are not the easiest of things to carry around. Charles wondered why a folding bread knife could not be produced and took his idea for a pocket bread knife to Lamson & Goodnow, American manufacturers of the LamsonSharp range. The Bâtard Folding Picnic knife is the result of this collaboration. At Roullier White we believe this may possibly be the best picnic knife ever made.
