Royal Academy: RAted

Yesterday I was honoured and delighted to be invited by the Royal Academy to be the guest judge evaluating the latest digital submissions for RAted alongside the RA’s inspirational retail team.

RAted is an important showcase for emerging design talent and it was thrilling to sift through the 250 designers, whose work had been passed through to the second stage. Of this group around 25 designers were selected and they will be asked to submit samples for the final evaluation. Those chosen will be guided by the RA’s expert buyers as their products are prepared to be presented in the RA’s shops in Mayfair and online.

I was so pleased to see the covetable clock cufflinks by Roderick Baker-Benfield in the RA’s latest catalogue.

Rod's company, Rodology, was selected in the inaugural RAted collection, and his work is now included in the RA’s core range where it appears for the second time in the Christmas catalogue. This is a true testament to the importance of RAted and the RA's commitment to supporting design and artistic talent
