Write On: Eight We Rate: Fountain Pens

At Roullier White we are delighted to see the welcome return of traditional old school stationery. With the increasing disregard for ephemeral emails, in business and in love if you want to stand out from the crowd send a handwritten note in black ink on crisp, white laid paper in a tissue-lined envelope.

The smell of the ink, the sound of the scratch of the nib on the textured paper, creativity flows more fluidly with a fountain pen.

Here are the eight we rate.

The Dialog 3 by LAMY has no cap, instead it has an ingenious twist action retracting nib. Dating back to the 1920s the PARKER Duofold is a true example of timeless iconic design. The pelican logo of PELIKAN pens is believed to be one of the oldest registered trademarks in the world, the company also introduced the transparent ink chamber, we love the distinctive, signature green barrel. The square lines of Exception by WATERMAN are a joy to behold and hold. The ATX Pure Chrome by CROSS is quite simply breathtaking. The Zoom 101 by TOMBOW weighs in at just 14.5 gms. All YARD-O-LED pens are made in the UK. The beauty of the WORCESTER Sentinel, made by hand in the UK, belies its price ticket; a beautiful heirloom instrumnet.
