TÊTE À TÊTE INCENDERE – THE FRAGRANCE OF CINEMA
TÊTE À TÊTE Incendere was conceived in the winter of 2013, when creator Vicki Kim decided to capture a cinematic moment from the 1967 film, The Graduate. The concept of the candle was very simple - when Kim was young she had experienced a form of synaesthesia that allowed her to ‘smell’ movies, and she wanted to find a way to share this with others. She decided to pursue a personal project of capturing the essences of characters, moods and atmospheres, and then composing them as perfume notes.
Since the initial launch, the brand has grown to contain six scents, each taking inspiration from an iconic cinematic moment. In addition to The Graduate, there are Great Expectations (1998), Raise the Red Lantern (1991), The Blue Lagoon (1990), The Virgin Suicides (1999) and The Secretary (2002).
Besides the movies Kim turned to her other passion, her love of industrial design, when she designed and developed an opulent, yet considered, metal holder to house the fragrances. The beautifully crafted vessel can be retained and enjoyed forever.
Kim mixes every batch of fragrance by hand in her small studio in Darlinghurst, Sydney. TÊTE À TÊTE Incendere is a true testament to her passion for creativity.
