Greetings! Please excuse this week's early mailing but I suddenly realised that if you haven't re-subscribed to our Newsletter then this will be my very last opportunity to say adieu and thank you very much indeed for your patronage and for allowing me into your home every Saturday - it has been a privilege and I am most grateful. Parole Boards - Second Chances I am a big believer in second chances and therefore pleased to have the opportunity to work with one of HM Prisons which offers educational courses in metalwork, painting and bricklaying etc to those that have paid their debt and are about to re-enter society. Not only does this offer the opportunity to learn new skills but re-adjusts participants to the structure of regular employment and earning a wage. One of the courses offered is in carpentry and woodworking and the men make the most wonderful products entirely by hand from English Oak - every one is unique and part of an individual's journey to a happier and more productive future. We have invested in a collection of their wonderful chopping/carving boards and the money helps to fund the programme and pay the wages which in turn gives the men a sense of self-worth where perhaps it was lacking. The products have tongue-in-cheek names to make you smile with more than a hint of Ronnie Barker! Long Stretch Board £30 Medium Stretch Board £22   Buy Now Long and Medium Stretch Boards - These are, as their names imply, long rectangular boards for everyday use for bread or chopping vegetable etc and are the workhorses of the kitchen. Chunky and handsome.  Snitch Meat Board £70 Buy Now

Snitch Meat Board - This has angled grooves channeled into the surface so that as you carve the meat the juices collect in the grooves and run towards a wooden plug which can then be removed over the gravy pan to release the liquid. Crumb-Catcher Bread Board £30 Buy Now Crumb-Catcher Bread Board - Wonderful artisanal breads ( often seeded ) can make a great deal of mess and our Crumb-Catcher is slatted to catch all the detritus . Pizza Wheel 6 Slices £65 Buy Now Pizza Wheel - I love this so much and have never seen anything quite like it. The wheel is made up of 6 segments each with a handle so that the pizza can be sliced and than distributed to six people who can eat it directly from their section of the board -  there is no need for plates. Genius and pretty! Obviously it can be stacked for easy storage although I have mine on display - it looks rather Amish, like a collection of butter pats! Big Ronnie £85 Buy Now And last but by no means least we have 'Big Ronnie'. At a metre long he lives up to his moniker and is the best invention ever when entertaining friends for lunch, especially al fresco. Simply arrange anti-pasto, bread, cheeses and other delicious fare in a repeat along the length and slide along the middle of the table. This not only looks stunning and theatrical but everyone will be able to reach everything at once without passing around plates and bowls. It can be hung on the wall as the size does prevent Ronnie from being placed in a drawer! I hang mine on Shaker pegs and it looks fantastic and is the envy of my friends.  So this week we do a good thing and hopefully pay some kindness forward. Best wishes, Michaelx
