Isabella Smith has been lighting up our lives, and our bathrooms and kitchens, here at Roullier White for a number of years; she has even made doing the dishes a pleasure. Since the day we first introduced Isabella's remarkable Maison Belle collection of eco-friendly household cleaners we were addicted. We believe Maison Belle to be the most effective range of ‘alternative’ cleaning agents around - completely people, pet and planet friendly - they work really, really, really well: leaving our homes gleaming and smelling remarkable; so much so in fact that people actually remark. It is not surprising then; that when the Danish luminary suggested we introduce some other lines, like this lamp, from her Isabella Smith Country Store range we jumped at the opportunity. Our current bestseller, as featured in this month’s Period Living Magazine, is indeed this beautiful Pigalle pendant lamp in burnished silver. The glass pendant comes complete with a beautiful woven cord – much nicer than the more usual plastic covered flex – and is perfectly sized to hang moodily above a dinner table, desk or in a bathroom or reading nook. Based on the traditional pendant lamps one sees hanging over the tables in and around the bistros, bars and restaurants of Montmatre; the Pigalle Pendant, complete with 4 foot flex, is a worry free alternative for those that want the vintage French look but don’t want to worry about the worrying wiring.

Bâtard Folding Picnic Knife by Lamson & Goodnow

As author of The Best Bread Ever; Charles Van Over is expected to show everywhere up with an armful of bread. Whilst Charles enjoys breaking bread with friends; he does insist that the bread is properly sliced with a breadknife, not just ripped apart. The problem here is that bread knives are very long and with their serrated edges they are not the easiest of things to carry around. Charles wondered why a folding bread knife could not be produced and took his idea for a pocket bread knife to Lamson & Goodnow, American manufacturers of the LamsonSharp range. The Bâtard Folding Picnic knife is the result of this collaboration. At Roullier White we believe this may possibly be the best picnic knife ever made.
