The seven-petal window above the door and the famous lamp with elaborate metal support are the feature of countless doorstep shots, however it is the lion doorknocker, fitted in the 1780's, that is the most familiar. Roullier White has tracked down the West Midlands-based brass foundry that made the original, only to find that the company still owned the original mould and could produce identical knockers.
