Celebrating The Natural Beauty Of Olive Wood / Pop-Art Placemats / Philanthropic Soaps Made By Syrian Refugees & Our Parole Boards Are Back! What a wonderful week it has been as Britain has basked in record February temperatures. I am hoping that this means that another great summer is in store - wouldn't that be wonderful! I think that we deserve it? Buy Now - Rustic Olive Wood Platter - £49.99 On our recent travels, the lovely Lene and myself noticed a huge trend in pieces made from Olive Wood.  I think this reflects our reconnection with the natural world as we focus more on our beautiful planet and the impact that we have upon it. Handcrafted in the traditional manner in Spain, Portugal, Turkey and Greece, each piece is totally unique and the colour and shape of the grain is absolutely stunning. We have carried a small collection for a while however I have decided to expand the offer with a couple of larger, high impact pieces which rea

It's a Dog's Life, A Ray Of Sunshine & Pleated Perfection What a week it has been. Our lovely Council is trying to introduce restricted parking just when our High Streets need all the help they can get and so I have been busy speaking with our customers to see how they feel. Delighted to report that the level of local support has been heart-warming! I love our customers! I was interviewed by Vanessa Feltz and BBC News - all a little nerve wracking however I am passionate about our High Street and want to do all that I can to protect it! New arrivals have been taking my mind off impending doom and the most joyful of all has arrived from Finland. They are very clever the Finns (I think it's those long winter evenings!) and they have created pet bowls that will stay icy cold for hours if they are soaked in cold water for just 60 seconds! This is genius for the summer as will keep wet food and water cool. Buy Now - Slow Feed Bowl - F

I am rather obsessed with the Ottoman Empire - it was the gateway between the East and West for over six centuries and particularly culturally rich during the rein of Suleiman The  Magnificent  in the 16th/17th century, with poetry, literature, architecture and the decorative arts pretty much unequaled in the islamic world. I also love modern day Turkey - I have been to Istanbul on a gourmet tour and was blown away with the street food which has been influenced by at least a dozen different cultures. I ate cheese and bread with honey from a sheet of newspaper in the back of the Egyptian Market and was in gourmet heaven! Turkey is also a hotbed of artistic talent and we have seen some outstanding examples of creative excellence in recent weeks. Before the silk velvet cushions and enamelware arrive I thought that I would share some really beautiful ceramics with you. Shop
