A Very Brief Encounter

I got on the Overground yesterday and the man I sat next to promptly, and rather bizarrely, got up and moved one seat away.

He then leant across the vacant seat between us and said somewhat poignantly; ‘It’s better this way.’

I smiled sadly and said; ‘We’ll always have Peckham.’
