Sowden: The SoftBrew Coffee Revolution
A designer of considerable experience and prestige, George Sowden began his career studying architecture at Glousceteshire College of Art in the 1960s before his passion for design led him to travel to Milan under the tutelage of his mentor, the Italian architect Ettore Sottsass, the so-called 'Godfather of Italian Cool'. Setting up his studio, SowdenDesign in 1981, he went on to work with many of the world's leading home wares brands, winning the coveted Italian design award Compasso d'Oro in 2001. Sowden's latest venture looks at turning the laborious business of making perfect coffee at home into a simple and satisfying exercise.
